First Presbyterian Helps Train Young Congolese Adults for Jobs

This is most recent cohort of Congo Leadership Initiative students, funded by First Presbyterian of Knoxville, to graduate with leadership and entrepreneurial skills.

First Presbyterian Church of Knoxville supplies funds to teach selected cohorts of young Congolese adults vital leadership and entrepreneurship skills. Offered by Congo Leadership Initiative and the Presbyterian Community of Kinshasa, the three-month training and follow-up alumni support enable the graduates to get jobs and run small businesses. Here is the latest cohort to pass an exit exam and graduate. Conducted in the fall in Malumu, a rural township in Kinshasa, this cohort consists of 17 young women and 13 young men. Another cohort will begin soon.
