We are excited to welcome New Testament scholar Dr. Amy-Jill Levine , for a public lecture and reception on Saturday, April 5th, from 7:00–9:00 PM. Dr. Levine will explore the topic "Jesus and Judaism: The Connection Matters," offering insight into how understanding Jesus within his Jewish context deepens our appreciation of both her teachings and the shared heritage of Christianity and Judaism.
Jesus followed the Torah of Moses, drew from the Prophets of Israel, and taught within the Jewish tradition. Yet, misconceptions often separate Jesus from his Jewish context. Dr. Levine’s lecture will offer a deeper understanding of Jesus’ teachings and how they shape Jewish-Christian relations today.
The lecture will take place in the Sanctuary, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. We expect a good size crowd and ask all congregants to sign up for free tickets via the Eventbrite link below.
Look forward to seeing you there!
